Hello lovely CfJers, just a quick reminder that the annual Student Publication Association National Awards are now open until March 15!
They're the biggest and only full set of national awards for student journalists in the UK, and are completely free to enter. There are 20 different categories, so you're bound to fit something! Gongs include Best Reporter, Best Feature, Best Interview, Best Entertainment Piece, Use of Digital Media and Entertainment, etc etc. The CfJ has previously had some success too, with wins for both Best Reporter and Outstanding Commitment!
As well as helping to launch the careers of several young journalists, they're also judged by top industry professionals - last year we had the head of digital at The Times, the head of the i Paper online, the deputy social media editor at MailOnline... It really is an opportunity to get your work seen by the best in the business!
All you need to do is have published your work in a student outlet during the last 12 months, or up to March 15 - this includes any work you have done for inQuire, Kent Echo or any other news day site. What's more, it's still not too late to publish it and enter it now.
Do get in touch if you have any questions or want advice - I'm on firstname.lastname@example.org :)
